COSY CATCH UP – 13th January 2017

Cosy Catch Up. banner

As you may be able to tell, it’s been a little while since my last Cosy Catch Up. This has been due to a number of factors, what with Christmas and New Year. I had intended to post something at the turn of the year, but for the last month I have gone through a really bad reading slump. Normally I can read about 5 or 6 books a month, but in January all I managed was 3 and I haven’t even started my book club read.

The 3 books that I did manage to read last month were;

A PROMISE OF FIRE by Amanda Bouchet: “brilliant and refreshing fantasy romance book and it is a must read all PNR romance fan. It is the perfect mix of the Black dagger brotherhood with its complex and twisty romance, Game of Thrones with so much political maneuvering and backstabbing, it would make Cesri Lannister proud and sprinkled with Roman (or Greek Mythology).” – Full Review Here.

CASANOVA by Emma Hart: “shows just how far Hart has come as an author and one who I think has further to go. It is a smart, sexy read that never once talks down to the reader. This is the perfect read for the cold winter nights, with a hotter than hell lead that can more than compete the Alpha males of Grey and Cross.” – Full Review Here

THE DRY by Jane Harper: “Witnessing the mystery and investigation play out was compelling stuff. There were many blind alleys and red herring throughout the book, until the final act played out.If you are a fan of the TV show Broadchurch, this is a book that I would really recommend you check out. The ending is… interesting.” – Full Review Here

TBR of Chance

In an effort try to get over my reading slump AND help me in choosing my next read’s I have created my very own TBR JAR OF CHANCE. I’ve put a number of books that I have received or bought recently and intend to pick them out. This won’t include any books that I have signed up to for blog tours, but this will hopefully help me. I’ve also decided to put in the first books in a number of series I have in there. If I like it that much, I will go on to read the rest of the series. .

That’s everything from me this time and I am sorry that it hasn’t been sooner.  Please do feel free to comment below with what you have read, are reading or are planning to. Until next time, bye!
