We all have those series on our TBR’s; the series that we start with the best of intention on keeping up-to-date with the latest installment, only for us to fall behind. Whether it was due to changes to my taste in genre’s and I decided to take a break or I had kept up to date only for the series to slip by unnoticed. Today, I thought I would give you an insight into the series that I have started, but am yet to catch up on.
1. The Dark Hunter Series by Sherrilyn Kenyon
I’ve read a good deal of these books, but it has been out of sequence and I haven’t read all of the spin-off book’s. This series was one of the first books I read when I was watching the TV series Angel and I was going through a real super-natural/ PNR phase. I keep going back to them and I do have all the latest books in the series. The last one I finished completely was Styx and I have Dragonsbane, the newest one on my TBR shelf.
2. The Hollows Series by Kim Harrison
The Hollows series is another one of my favorite Urban Fantasy series and I am really annoyed that I can’t seem to find the time to complete it. The last book I finished in this series was Pale Demon, which was a fantastic read and Harrison left the series in a position that shook the status-quo. This is a series I really need to get back to it.
3. The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher
By now you may see a bit of a trend as most of the books have a paranormal theme to them. The Dresden Files is yet another one I need to catch up on. This was the series I started when the popularity of another wizard named Harry was at a peak. The last book I read in this series I finished was book 10, Small Favor. I am currently five books behind in this series and the next installment, Peace Talks is due out in May next year. I have a little time to try and catch up on this series.
4. Anita Blake Series by Laurell K Hamilton
I currently have all the books that have been published in the series that I have yet to read. The Anita Blake Series is a funny one because I went off this series after reading Micah. For me it had lost that spark that made like the earlier books. No matter, I keep buying these books and they sit on my shelf. I keep pushing them back, but I live in hope that one day I will go back to them.
5. Sabrina Kane Series by Jaye Wells
It’s been a good few years since I have read the first book in the series Red Headed Stepchild and I remember really loving it. I kept buying the rest of the series and I have them on my shelf. I can’t bear to get rid of them as I know that this is a series that I will love.
6. Signs of the Zodiac Series by Vicki Petterson
I remember picking up the first book in this series because it had such an unusual premise and the fact it was about these two groups of superheroes based around the twelve signs of the zodiac, one light and one dark. I loved the first book and the rest are currently sitting on my shelf.
7. Marked Series by S J Day
Before Sylvia Day became famous for the Crossfire Series, I started her Marked series. It was a really clever take on the Kane and Able tale with a supernatural twist. The opening scene was jaw droppingly shocking and it was series I had every intent on finishing. This series is one of the shorter ones I have yet to finish.
8. Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris
I started this series when I heard that it was being made into a TV show. I read them in quite quick succession and even managed to keep up to date with every book that came out until about book 9, Dead and Gone. At that point, I began to get a bit confused between the TV show and the book series and so I ended up falling behind. I only have about four books to read to complete this series
9. Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost
This was another series that I started during my paranormal phase and overall I did rather enjoy this series a lot. However, I fell out of love with this series when I read the spin-off books as I felt they weren’t as good as the mother series. I have the later books on my TBR and I may still get back to them.
10. Demonica Series by Larissa Ione
I had found this series by accident and again had started by reading the series out of order. I’ve only read a couple of the original series and I have the spin off series sitting on my TBR too. I began this when I was looking for books to fill in the gaps between the books in the Dark Hunter Series.
So, that is just some of the series I have still to finish. Be sure to come back and see what other series I have on my TBR. Meanwhile, why don’t you tell me how many of these do you still have to read? Which ones are you up to date on? What series are still on your TBR?
