WEEK IN REVIEW: Week Ending 02nd November 2014

Week In Review

Ok, so technically this should be re-titled “Fortnight-In-Review” and technically it is a day late, but the reason behind the first is that I forgot to post last weeks review. As for the fact it is a day late is because I realised that I had forgotten to press the publish button.

So, here is a rundown of what I have read, along with new books I have bought or received.

Since the last book I completed was Icefall by Gillian Philips, which I had been reading for over a month. This is nothing to do with the quality or the enjoyment of the book, but the fact that this is the last book in the Rebel Angels series that I have really loved reading. As expected, the book was both a satisfying ending, as well as rather upsetting. I had a sneaky suspicion of how the series would end and some of them did come true. Yet, Philips managed to pull out a few surprises. My review for this book is currently WIP and should be up soon.

After finishing two erotic romance books that I only found OK, I decided to take a break from the genre and go back to reading some Paranormal Romance (PNR). So, I decided to read Bound By Night by Larissa Ione. I had read some of her Demonica Series and really enjoyed them. This series is in no way related to that one, but I am finding that I really like this book.

At work, I am currently reading Forty Days Without Shadow by Oliver Truc, which seems to be a paranormal mystery. So far, it seems pretty interesting and the fact that it’s set in Lapland, adds something new and it is taking a leaf out of the Nordic Crime books that have been very popular.

Aside from reading, I have decided to have a bash at the National Novel Writing Month. (www.nanowrimo.org). The challenge is to write a novel in a month, so if you follow me on Twitter, you will be seeing some updates from me. I’ll also keep you updated here to. At present, I have written just under 3000 words and I just started my story yesterday. I am under no illusions that I will complete the story, nor that it will be very good, but I thought I would give it a go.

Anyway, that is everything from me for this week. For everyone who is also taking part in NaNoWriMo, good luck.
