WEEK IN REVIEW

Week In Review

So this is a new feature to my blog. I thought I would share what has been happening over the course of a week, including the books I’ve bought, received for review and those I have read. This will give you a one Stop Shop to everything that has happened on the site.

First of all, you may have noticed a lot of radio silence on the blog. This was down to issues I have been having due to me migrating my blog from WordPress.com to self-hosting. It has taken a lot of work to get the blog to its present state and no doubt this won’t be the last of me tinkering away at it, but for now I am back up and running.

While the blog has been down, I haven’t been resting on my laurels reading wise and I have managed to get through a number of books. It has meant that I am a bit behind on reviews, but hopefully I should get back on track and get some of them done too. Below there is a list of books I have read over the past month. (Note: books not reviewed will link to Goodreads page)

This week, I am currently reading Rusty Nailed by Alice Clayton, the second book in the Cocktail series and Icefall by Gillian Philip, the last book in her Rebel Angel’s series. I have to admit that both books are not what I expected.

In the case of Rusty Nailed, its turning out be a bit of a disappointment for me. I’m struggling to continue reading the book as it just doesn’t seem to have that “something” that made Wallbanger, the first in the series, so fun and easy to read.

As for Icefall, this is a real slow burner, but it is very interesting. Pieces of the puzzle are slotting into place and both sides are readying their allies for the big showdown. Philips is known to take no prisoners and no character is safe from Death’s steely grip. I really don’t know how this will end

Anyway, thanks for your patience and I hope you enjoy reading what I have been up to.
